The residents in Southern Hamden have long been grappling with deteriorating foundations. Our priority should be to prioritize our residents’ well-being and address this issue by utilizing ARPA funding to repair the foundations, rather than constructing a community center, which is what is currently planned for the ARPA funding.

The community represents a cohesive entity beyond mere physical infrastructure or geographical location. It embodies a collective of individuals established by and for the people. The community is not in a “center” that the town cannot afford. The current Administration plans to allocate millions of dollars toward constructing a community center that lacks community support.
