The Future
of Hamden

What is my Vision for Hamden?
-
Restore Fiscal Management
In order to return to the fundamentals of sound fiscal management, as the town's mayor, I will assess the town's financial standing, appoint a Finance Director, fill all vacant positions on the Finance Commission, work closely with the Finance Committee on the Legislative Council, and conduct Town Hall Meetings to gather input from the public BEFORE unveiling the full complete budget. Fiscal Management = Lower Taxes!
-
Reignite Economic Development
In order to create a vibrant economic environment that fosters growth, attracts investment, and improves the overall quality of life, I will reignite economic development by removing the red tape and making it easier to start and operate local businesses. I will continue to support small businesses while attracting big businesses to create increased revenue and collaborate with non-profits to empower the future generation of workers.
-
Public Safety
As a 20-year veteran of law enforcement, I will implement a comprehensive strategy to tackle community safety, crime prevention, and emergency response. I will also prioritize transparency in crime data and community reporting. I will adopt a holistic approach to public safety that addresses the underlying causes of crime and promotes community resilience. This will entail allocating resources towards programs targeting and mentoring our youth, after-school activities, and vocational training.
-
Education
I will champion equitable funding for all schools to ensure every student has resources and access to quality education conducive to learning. I will support the expansion of after school programs and mental health services for students, as well as professional development opportunities for teachers to improve student support and teacher retention. Ultimately, this leads to improved educational outcomes and a stronger future for all.
-
Community Support
I will support the entire community of Hamden by addressing their most forefront concerns. For example, the current administration plans to allocate millions of dollars toward constructing a community center that lacks public support, while residents in Southern Hamden have long been grappling with deteriorating foundations. Community is not in a building; community is in the people. I will prioritize our residents’ well-being by redirecting ARPA funding to repair the foundations, rather than constructing a community center on a site impacted by environmental complications.
